Information, Referral & Assistance Navigator

Contract Full-Time | Austin, TX | $21/hr
A well-established regional nonprofit/government-affiliated organization is seeking a temporary Information, Referral & Assistance Navigator to support individuals and families in accessing community-based programs and long-term support services.

This is a fast-paced, service-oriented role focused on helping older adults, individuals with disabilities, caregivers, and community members navigate available resources and assistance programs. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, comfortable handling high call volume, and able to communicate professionally with a wide variety of populations.

Key Responsibilities:
* Answer inbound calls and emails from individuals seeking assistance and community resources
* Conduct intake assessments to identify needs and determine appropriate support programs/services
* Provide information regarding long-term services, benefits, and community resources
* Assist clients with applications, documentation, and referrals to partner agencies
* Maintain accurate case notes and data entry within internal tracking systems
* Coordinate with outside organizations and service providers as needed
* Support outreach initiatives, presentations, and community engagement activities
* Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in compliance with agency guidelines
Qualifications:
* 1+ year of experience in customer support, social services, human services, case management, intake coordination, healthcare navigation, or a related field
* Strong phone communication and interpersonal skills
* Comfortable handling sensitive or high-stress conversations professionally
* Strong documentation and data entry skills
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems
* Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred:
* Bilingual English/Spanish
* Experience supporting older adults, individuals with disabilities, or underserved populations
* Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, public assistance, or community resource programs
* Prior experience in a call center, intake, or service coordination environment

Additional Details:
* Contract full-time assignment expected to run through early September 2026 though could be extended beyond
* Standard daytime business hours, Monday through Friday
* Fully onsite
